DEBORAH B. STERN, ESQ. is a Member of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in its Miami office. A former senior attorney with CBP Headquarters, Ms. Stern advises domestic and multinational clients on both U.S. and foreign customs compliance and other trade matters. She concentrates her practice in traditional customs areas including tariff classification, seizures and penalties, country of origin marking, valuation, broker compliance, trade preference programs, and free trade agreements, as well as the World Customs Organization’s Harmonized System, where she served as a delegate during her time at CBP. With special emphasis in the high-tech sector, she has substantial experience in almost every product area of the tariff schedule.
EDWARD “NED” STEINER is Senior Director, International Trade and Governmental Relations, for Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Steiner has two decades of experience in international trade and public policy. Mr. Steiner consults for a diverse client base of private industry, trade associations and foreign governments on trade compliance and facilitation issues. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Steiner worked for more than six years in policy and management positions as a staff member for the U.S. House of Representatives. Mr. Steiner has a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in international economics and relations, has extensive experience living and working abroad and speaks Spanish, French and Swedish.
