The full-day program is an in-depth session that will focus on the unique provisions related to encryption under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) licensing officers will provide a comprehensive overview of controls on encryption in the EAR, including what items are and are not controlled in Category 5 Part 2, License Exception ENC and mass market provisions (740.17), encryption classification and licensing, deemed exports, and rules regarding foreign product development using U.S. origin encryption parts and components.

Pre-requisite:  Complying with U.S. Export Controls or equivalent experience.

Instructors:  The instructors are experienced export policy specialists from BIS’ Information Technology Division in Washington D.C. The instructors will be available throughout the seminar to answer your questions on how the export regulations affect the export activities of your organization or client.

Location / Time:  Crowne Plaza, San Jose/Silicon Valley, 777 Bellew Drive, Milpitas, CA 95035.  Registration and continental breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m.  The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.

MCLE Credit:  The Western Regional Office of the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider.  The amount of credit varies with the length of the seminar.
