“Encryption Controls Virtual Seminar”

 Tuesday and Wednesday, August 25 – 26, 2020
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. PDT (12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EDT) Both days, respectively.

The Encryption Controls virtual seminar is an in-depth session that will focus on the unique provisions related to encryption under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) licensing officers will provide a comprehensive overview of controls on encryption in the EAR, including what items are and are not controlled in Category 5 Part 2, License Exception ENC and mass-market provisions (740.17), encryption classification and licensing, deemed exports, and rules regarding foreign product development using U.S. origin encryption parts and components.  The program will allow for live Q&A, provide detailed electronic reference materials for ongoing use, and allow attendees the opportunity to view recordings of the sessions for a limited period of time following the seminar.  Prerequisite:  The prerequisite for this course is completion of the Complying with Export Controls Seminar or equivalent experience.

Instructors:  The instructors are experienced export policy specialists from BIS’ Information Technology Division in Washington D.C.

Location:  This is a virtual interactive training program that participants can access from the convenience of their home or office.  A computer or laptop with audio and reliable and stable internet connection is required.

Time:  9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. PDT (12:00 to 3:00 p.m. EDT).  Please be prepared to log in at 8:30 a.m. (11:30 a.m. EDT).  The program begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m. PDT each day.

Registration:  The cost of this two-day seminar is $350.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations or attendee changes will be charged a $25 administrative fee.  All refund/cancellation requests or attendee changes must be requested by email to P.A.E.I. administrator at paeiadmin@paei.org. The last day to request attendee changes is August 19.
